GLENVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 7, 2018) — James R. Barnes, Esq., an elder law and estate planning attorney at Albany-based Burke & Casserly, P.C., will host an estate planning presentation Tues., Feb. 13 at 2:30 p.m. at The Meadows at Glenwyck (150 Dutch Meadows Lane, Glenville).
The program will address the importance of planning for potential incapacity, as well as planning to leave your family a financial legacy.
“Any planning should first and foremost be personal to the individuals and families involved,” said Barnes, a partner at the firm. “We will discuss how to balance planning for your potential long-term care needs in the future, while at the same time, exploring the options available to preserve assets, reduce exposure to taxes, avoid probate, and ensure a timely and efficient succession of wealth to your loved ones."
Barnes is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, where he serves on the executive committee of the Elder Law and Special Needs Section. He also currently serves as a Trustee of the Foundation for Ellis Medicine in Schenectady, as well as a member of the board of directors of the Visiting Nurse Service of Northeastern New York, a subsidiary of Ellis Medicine.
